As we work toward a net-zero future, it’s all about balance — cutting emissions wherever we can, removing what we can’t, and offsetting the rest in a responsible way. It’s this mix that helps drive real change for people and the planet.
Before you think about offsetting your fooprint with Zero Carbon projects, it’s important to start with the basics. First, measure your spending impact through GreenScore®, which contributes to your carbon footprint.
Next, look for ways to cut back. We show you the impact of your spending so you can make choices that lower your footprint. Only then does offsetting your footprint make sense — once you’ve measured and reduced what you can.
What is the Zero Carbon Projects portfolio?
We’ve partnered with Lune to bring you accessible and impactful carbon removal offsetting options. By integrating Lune's platform into our app and linking it to your GreenScore® feature, we enable you to offset your carbon footprint, or environmental impact, through a carefully curated portfolio of high-quality, durable, verified carbon removal projects and improve your GreenScore® at the same time.
Note: ‘Verified' means the projects have been approved by one of the standard-making bodies like Verra, Standard, Puro etc. Which verifies that the project is doing what it claims to do.
You can read more about this on Lune's website Buy Carbon Credits | Fund Impactful Climate Projects
Who is Lune ?
Lune is a UK-based platform that connects individuals and businesses with high-quality carbon offset projects. They offer a curated selection of verified projects, such as reforestation, afforestation, and carbon removal, to help offset emissions. Each project undergoes rigorous evaluation to ensure it meets standards like the Oxford Offsetting Principles and the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market's Core Carbon Principles.
Note: ‘Verified' means the projects have been approved by one of the standard-making bodies like Verra, Standard, Puro etc. Which verifies that the project is doing what it claims to do. You can read more about this on Lune's website Buy Carbon Credits | Fund Impactful Climate Projects
Why should I compensate for my carbon emissions and contribute to high-quality carbon removal projects through Zero Carbon Projects?
- You have a good understanding of your impact through using our GreenScore® measure
- You’ve already reduced your emissions as much as possible.
- You’re using a trusted provider.
- You treat it as part of a bigger effort — not a free pass.
- Offsetting isn’t a free pass — but when done responsibly, it’s a powerful way to support real climate action.
How does it work in practice?
Say you buy a flight from London to Barcelona – you could use a tool like flight carbon footprint calculator to give you the carbon that the flight emits (around 0.42 tonnes of CO₂). Through Zero, you can now balance your carbon footprint by offsetting – or removing – those 0.42 tonnes by contributing to the range of carefully curated projects within the Zero Carbon Projects portfolio.
What projects are included within the Zero Carbon Projects portfolio and why?
Through our partnership with Lune, you can contribute to removing your carbon footprint through a carefully curated portfolio of high-quality carbon removal projects. Each project within the portfolio offers a unique approach to combating climate change, from forest conservation to innovative carbon removal technologies. By choosing to offset your emissions, you can play an active role in supporting sustainable practices and contributing to a healthier planet.
While the projects within the portfolio may vary from time to time, we promise they will always meet our rigorous criteria:
- Balanced approach of cost per tonne with impactful carbon removal.
- High integrity, verified methodologies and projects
- A balance of nature-based solutions and technology-driven solutions
- Long-term carbon removal where possible
- Fast to remove carbon where possible
- A broad range of social co-benefits for example sustainable livelihoods, local economic and health benefits
These projects align with the SDGs, and customers will be able to track within the app the impact of their contributions, both in terms of CO2 mitigation and social benefits.
Currently, we’re offering four project bundles within the portfolio, giving access to a total of seven projects:
Did you know?! An SDG is a set of 17 global goals adopted by the United Nations in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure peace and prosperity for all by 2030.
1. Latin American reforestation bundle
What it is: This bundle focuses on forest conservation and restoration projects across Latin America, aiming to preserve biodiversity and enhance carbon sequestration. Two developments are included, in Columbia and Brazil.
Why it matters: These forests play a crucial role in global carbon cycles, and preserving them is vital for mitigating climate change.
This bundle has the lowest access cost / per tonne CO2 equivalent cost within the portfolio.
2. Concrete project
What it is: This project supports an innovative technology project in Canada that reduces emissions from concrete and makes its production more sustainable.
Why it matters: The cement industry is responsible for around 8% of global CO₂ emissions.”

3. Frontier Climate Fund
What it is: The Frontier Climate Fund is an initiative backed by companies like Stripe, Alphabet, Shopify, Meta, and McKinsey, aiming to accelerate the development of permanent carbon removal technologies by guaranteeing future demand.
Why it matters: Permanent carbon removal is essential to achieving net-zero emissions and combating climate change. By supporting this fund, individuals contribute to the advancement of innovative technologies that remove CO₂ from the atmosphere, such as direct air capture and mineralization.
This is the most expensive project within the portfolio, but we believe it's imperative to support the scaling of emerging carbon removal technologies as well as continuing to invest in nature-based solutions.
4. Biochar project bundle
What it is: This bundle of three projects across France and the US supports the production of biochar from agricultural waste in France, sequestering carbon in soil and improving soil health.
Why it matters: Biochar is a stable form of carbon that can remain in soil for hundreds to thousands of years, making it an effective method for long-term carbon sequestration. Contributing to this bundle helps fund projects that not only sequester carbon but also enhance soil fertility and support sustainable agriculture.
